A month ago, my husband Carlos and I lived one of the most special experiences for many years. Almost all the holidays we have had have been with our children and a lot of sun and beach. We wanted something more intimate and quiet, something different where we could reconnect as a couple and rekindle the flame after 15 years.
We knew HD Hotels because we had already stayed with our family at HD Parque Cristóbal Gran Canaria, and we knew that the capital could provide us with the experience we were looking for.
We wanted to get to know the essence of the Canary Islands and, through SenseConnect, we planned our entire trip. We had breakfast in the middle of Santa Catalina park, at the Gran Terraza Café Souza where we were given a discount for staying at the hotel; we walked along the wonderful beach of Las Canteras and then got lost in the streets of Vegueta ending up at the great Cathedral of Santa Ana.
At lunchtime, we returned to the hotel and had lunch at a restaurant where we had authentic Neapolitan pizza at Il segreto di Pulcinella, just a 15-minute walk away, and ended our day in the Deluxe Emblem Suite, which allowed us to enjoy the tranquillity of the city centre every day relaxing in the jacuzzi.
We recommend visiting the Poema del Mar, an aquarium where you can see numerous species, or kayaking in the middle of Las Canteras beach in the early hours of the morning - quite an experience!
This trip has allowed us to live a new adventure as a couple and break the monotony of everyday life. We will definitely come back to see what Gran Canaria has in store for us.
