Carnival of Las Palmas 2020 Programme

Jan. 28, 2020, 11:05 a.m.

As we have recently stated, the Carnival of Las Palmas is one of the most unique festivities in the world. Every February, the capital of Gran Canaria holds a famous celebration that attracts thousands of visitors looking for having a good time while enjoying an amazing climate in winter.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a city with a wide and varied leisure and cultural agenda: dance, concerts, opera, cinema, theatre or plastic arts, among others, are regular shows on the city's billboards. Therefore, it’s no surprise that culture in Las Palmas (including museums and theatres) reach its peak in carnival season.

Due to its location in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean just a 100 km off the northwestern African coast and a couple hours flight away from the European continent, the influence of many cultures can be seen in the capital of this “miniature continent”.

In fact, cruises in Gran Canaria are now part of this cosmopolitan city open to the sea. So much so that in recent years Las Palmas has become one of the ports that receives more cruise passengers every year. And the number continues to grow.

The cruise terminal is situated a few minutes on foot from the Santa Catalina Park, the most important venue of Las Palmas Carnival. Luckily, if you’re wondering where to stay in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria the answer is clear: Acuario Lifestyle Hotel.

This emblematic hotel belonging to HD Hotels & Resorts is located right in front of the place that holds the most important events of the Carnival of Las Palmas. In addition, Las Canteras, one of the best urban beaches in the World is just 5 minutes away.
